Description

In an effort to unite the consumer, physician and corporate segments of its business, American Well commissioned a new website to be built. Description

As an expansion of its telehealth offering, American Well developed a kiosk that could bring healthcare to any worksite, retail outlet, or community center without requiring onsite clinical staff. The user interface was designed to be clean, simple and unencumbered, in keeping with the industrial design of the enclosure. Integrating biometric and other inputs were also key to the success of the interface.

Description

American Well required a brochure system whose elements could work in concert as a comprehensive assembly or stand independently. The materials needed to speak to varied business audiences including health plans, employers and delivery networks. We designed a brochure, folder and sell sheets to convey sophistication and formality without undue stodginess. The brochure provided a universally applicable introduction to the American Well platform and the individual sell sheets spoke more pointedly to each audience, while the 3-panel folder enclosed all the materials in one tidy package.

For this reason, American Well chose this publication as the place to begin direct engagement of practices and individual doctors as buyers of the American Well platform. I designed several concepts communicating the extraordinary lifestyle flexibility that providing care online gives to doctors. The last of these concepts was chosen and published in the journal.

Although care for acute medical issues is a natural use case for the American Well platform (Online Care), the company recognized the broad spectrum of wellness services that could also be accessed. As a special benefit, American Well allowed its employees to have free online conversations with nutritionists, personal trainers and herbalists in addition to doctors. This poster campaign introduced the new benefit in a fun, light-hearted way, while challenging employees to learn more about health and nutrition.

Dirty Truckers

Description

The Dirty Truckers, a Boston-based rock band, asked me to create cover art for their latest album “Tiger Stripes”. They wanted the cover to have a warm, retro feel with a bit of an edge. I was inspired by the classic Sailor Jerry tattoos of the mid 20th century, and I used the central graphic as a metaphor for the permanent marks left on a man by rough relationships and fast living in modern times.
